会話内容「一生に一度はやってみたいこと」
【Alisa】So do you have a bucket list?
【Jesse】I do. It’s not a very large bucket list, but actually I think the number one thing on my bucket list is actually swimming with great white sharks.
【Alisa】Oh my gosh. No (laugh).
【Jesse】Yeah, it sounds a little crazy. You’d probably have to know a little more of the backstory on that. So I actually saw the movie “Jaws” when I was two years old.
【Alisa】OK.
【Jesse】And although that sounds like a really bad idea and bad parenting um the reality was I actually loved the movie. And to be honest by the end of it, at least when my mom told the story, I was rooting for the shark. So when the shark blows up, um hopefully that’s not a spoiler alert for you but uh…
【Alisa】No.
【Jesse】Yeah when the shark blows up I actually turned to my mom and I said, “What happen to poor shark mom?”
【Alisa】Oh my gosh.
【Jesse】So from then on, I’ve watched pretty much every Shark Week since like the nineties so I’ve been really passionate about sharks but I’ve never been able to swim with one, um at least in a cage, I’m not gonna (going to) lie.
【Alisa】So you’d wanna (want to) be in a cage though? Like you don’t wanna (want to) just do like…
【Jesse】Yeah, I think for starters, you know um…
【Alisa】But eventually would you like to like graduate to just…
【Jesse】Yeah, we’ll have to see how well I do.
【Alisa】OK.
【Jesse】You know I feel like the cage diving, you’ve gotta, gotta work your way up through the system.
【Alisa】But with great white sharks? Not like baby sharks. Like you want…
【Jesse】No, I mean I actually worked at Sea World for a couple summers…
【Alisa】Uh huh.
【Jesse】So I’ve seen the baby sharks, you know?
【Alisa】Uh huh.
【Jesse】And they’re still cool. Don’t get me wrong but um you know, I’ve kinda been there done that with the baby sharks.
【Alisa】Uh huh. OK.
【Jesse】You know some of the, quote unquote, lesser species.
【Alisa】Casual?
【Jesse】Yeah you know, lemon sharks um…But you know one day, great white sharks, uh open ocean, I think would be pretty cool.
【Alisa】So do you think that if something were to happen, like if you were get… to get injured or bitten by a shark that would change, that would totally turn you off to the idea or?
【Jesse】I definitely wouldn’t do it again, I’d see that as like my…
【Alisa】Cuz (Because) it doesn’t even sound like a bucket list thing. It sounds more like a goal. Like it doesn’t sound like something you just wanna do once before you die, it sounds like something like…like a real goal for your life. So I’m wondering if like a shark bit you, if you would abandon that or if you’d be like yeah they’re still cool.
