【Andy】This number is going to get pretty high. Like…

【Emily】Yeah.

【Andy】Oh my God, like I just…I don’t know like an exact number, but I have to give like, I guess some context. I have a lot of friends that have to work two jobs.

【Emily】Oh, that’s so real.

【Andy】Yeah. Like two jobs. I mean this, I’m working here as a part-time job.

【Emily】Mm hm.

【Andy】Um, and I have a full-time job, and I couldn’t imagine not having the part-time job like there’s just no way I’d be able to afford like living here.

【Emily】Yeah.

【Andy】 It’s very expensive.

【Emily】That’s…I totally relate. Um, I…this is like my own…Well, okay, I do have like two jobs. One is like freelance. But I have to live with, like, roommates.

【Andy】Yeah. Oh yes. That too.

【Emily】And that’s, like, so normal over here because it’s just, like, I don’t know how people can afford to live.

【Andy】By yourself?

【Emily】Yeah, with just one job.

【Andy】Yeah, very true.

【Emily】And then if you have, like, a family to support, that’s just, like, so much to carry.

【Andy】I can’t even think about it.

【Emily】I know.

【Andy】What do you think about having a family? I was like no way.

【Emily】If you were to, like, ballpark a number…

【Andy】Holy moly, I don’t know. I cannot count that high, dude. It’s so expensive.

【Emily】Okay, I’m in my 20s, and I’m going to have to say, like, if you live with roommates, I would say, bare minimum, if you own a car, like, 2.5K.

【Andy】Mm hm. Mm hm.

【Emily】Like, maybe 2K if you, like, really save here and there.

【Andy】Yeah, yeah.

【Emily】Like, not eating out. And then I feel like if you live in an apartment by yourself, like, more than 3K.

【Andy】Yeah, for sure.

【Emily】More than 3K.

【Andy】I have…I previously lived in an apartment with two roommates and I now live in a shared house with two…I guess three people.

【Emily】Yeah.

【Andy】Three other people and it’s like…even now my rent is affordable because of that.

【Emily】Yeah.

【Andy】But it’s like, yeah no way. I couldn’t imagine living by myself in California right now.

【Emily】Yeah.

【Andy】It’s crazy.
