「あちこち移動する」は英語で？

観光地を訪れる際、電車やバスを使って移動することが多いと思いますが、「あちこち移動する」という表現を英語でどういえばいいかご存知ですか？今日は「あちこち移動する」を意味する英語表現をご紹介します。

Get around
→「あちこち移動する」

あちこちに移動することを“get around”といいます。一般的には街や場所を移動する時に使われ、“It’s easy to get around Japan.（日本は移動が便利な国です）” や “I get around using the train.（私は電車で移動します）”のように使われることが多いです。“get around”は、電車やバス、車で移動することを伝える時に使えるピッタリのフレーズです。

It’s pretty easy to get around Osaka.
（大阪は移動がとても簡単です）
It’s hard to get around L.A. without a car.
（ロサンゼルスでは車がないと移動が大変です）

〜会話例〜
A: Is it easy to get around Tokyo?
（東京は移動するのが簡単ですか？）
B: For sure. The public transportation is amazing here. Everyone gets around using the train.
（もちろんです。公共交通機関が素晴らしいので、みんな電車を使って移動しています）
A: That’s good to hear. My trip to Japan is coming up soon. I can’t wait!
（それを聞いて安心しました。もうすぐ日本に行く予定なんです。楽しみです！）
