【Deanna】How has your idea of a fun time changed over the years?

【Kelly】So I feel like I’m a little bit too busy to have fun times, um, which is kind of a sad answer, a little bit of a depressing answer. But I feel like maybe, I was just thinking about this the other day, I feel like just with my living situation and like having a full-time job, it’s a little bit different than when I was studying abroad, or maybe I lived in a bigger city, and there was more stuff to do.

【Deanna】Mmm-hmm.

【Kelly】I feel like now my fun time is sort of compressed into when I go on vacation. So like two weeks here, one week there, two weeks there. And just really like doing whatever I want to do, going somewhere new, eating something new, and doing all of like that. I can do whatever I want on my own schedule when I’m on vacation.

【Kelly】So, for example, in like two weeks, I have a cruise coming up, and it’s only three days long, but it’s just, I can do anything. I can go swimming, I can eat food all day, I can like have a cocktail, I can go swim with dolphins. So it’s sort of compacted now, rather than sort of this day go here, maybe I’ll stay in. So I think maybe as I’ve gotten older, it’s become more scheduled fun. I don’t know if that sounds fun but…

【Deanna】No, that makes sense. Yeah, I like that. I think it sounds like intentional fun, I guess.

【Kelly】Exactly.

【Deanna】Yes.

【Kelly】Exactly. There you go. That sounds much better than scheduled fun.

【Deanna】Like you…

【Kelly】Yeah.

【Deanna】It’s not as common or often that you get to do it.

【Kelly】Yeah.

【Deanna】When you do, it’s a lot more intentional.

【Kelly】 Yeah, it’s a lot more intentional. Yeah, yeah exactly. Feel better all over the place. How about you? Your definition or how you have fun, has it changed over the years?

【Deanna】Umm, I kind of agree with what you said. Like, I definitely don’t have as much time to just do whatever I want. But when I do, like that idea of fun, from when I was little, it was… I would say, like when I was in elementary school, it meant… um playing sports like going on the playground or like um singing and dancing and like one of my biggest hobbies um I don’t know if Jun knows this either, but I used to like make really terrible YouTube videos and like…

【Kelly】Really?

【Deanna】Yeah, it would just be me and my friends, like making the most cringey like strange videos where we would like wear all the clothes that we have in our house on, and we would like put on our bodies and like dance around and…

1) ~ here, ~ there（ここで少し、あそこで少し）
