【Jennifer】Oh do you guys get up really early for Black Friday?

【Jansen】Um some of us do but I just, I usually just fall asleep. I just sleep through the night and through the morning. Um did you do any Black Friday shopping?

【Jennifer】No not this year.

【Jansen】Oh OK. Have you gone before?

【Jennifer】Yeah when I was in college, uh they have a couple of like Best Buy or Staples nearby.

【Jansen】Mm hm.

【Jennifer】So uh we’d line up like about 3 or 4 am in the morning and then they open at like 5.

【Jansen】OK.

【Jennifer】So you camp out and wait for them to open the doors and everybody rushes in.

【Jansen】OK. Oh sounds exciting.

【Jennifer】It’s a little scary (Laugh).

【Jansen】OK. Very exciting and scary.

【Jennifer】Yeah.

【Jansen】So uh what is the best kind of deal that you’ve gotten. Black Friday is known for amazing deals. The last thing I bought on Black Friday was actually a uh bag like an overnight bag.

【Jennifer】Oh like travel bag?

【Jansen】Yeah.

【Jennifer】OK. Um I bought an office chair (Laugh). It was like half off um it went for 80 dollars but I bought it for 40 dollars so I was like this is good. Especially like in college I’m like you get a nice chair to sit at at your desk right? So…

【Jansen】That’s very practical.

1) Camp out（野宿する）

◎ ”Camp out”は使い方により二つの意味を持ちます。実際にテントを張ってキャンプをすることと、ある商品のために徹夜をして外で並んで待つことを意味します。例えば、新商品が発売される前日に、人がお店の前に並んで 一晩過ごすことを表します。

2) Rush in（駆け込む）

◎ ”Rush”は「急ぐ」を意味することから、勢いよく何処かへ駆け込んだりすることを”Rush in”と表現します。
◎ ”Rush into”や”Rush onto”も同じ意味合いで使われます。

3) Half off（半額）

◎ 英会話で半額はシンプルに”Half off”と表します。割引を”Off”を使って表し、10％オフは”10% off”、20％引きは”20% off”になります。
